CONSTRUCTION AND USE OF FIBER OPTIC CLIPS

Fiber Clamp is one of our products. Let me introduce the structure and usage of fiber clamps.

　　The optical fiber holder is used in the communication line with the optical fiber as the transmission medium. At the middle point of the optical fiber, the optical signal is injected into and out of the optical fiber by the method of not cutting the optical fiber. The bare fiber is clamped in the fiber clamp, and the optical signal in the fiber can be taken out without cutting the fiber; or the optical signal of the clamp itself can be injected into the core of the fiber. The gripper is connected to other instruments using optical signal input/output. By changing the adapter, it can correspond to a variety of connectors.

　　(1) Structure of the gripper

　　The main part of the fiber holder is the fiber clamp.

　　Fiber clamp: used to clamp the fiber, so that the optical signal in the fiber can be better coupled to the clamp and received.

　　Clamping Handle: The switch lever of the fiber clamp. In order to prevent the optical fiber from being subjected to a strong force, it should be operated slowly when clamping the optical fiber.

　　Input/output port: The light source, optical phone, and other instruments output and receive the optical signal transmitted on the optical fiber through this port. This port can change the adapter according to the type of connector.

　　Transmission Cutter: It is designed to eliminate the influence of the optical signal of the inner cladding of the fiber on the instrument. When the optical signal in the optical fiber cladding affects the instrument, the clamped optical fiber can be put into the groove of the transmission cutter and rotated for half a circle.

　　(2) How to use

　　This instrument is generally used in conjunction with other instruments (light source, optical telephone, etc.). The specific usage method is as follows.

　　①Injecting matching liquid: In order to make the optical fiber and the holder better contact and reduce the reflection, generally, a little optical fiber matching liquid should be added to the holding groove of the holder before use. Hold the gripper handle, open the fiber clamp, and add an appropriate amount of fiber matching solution (just enough to coat) to the clamp base plate. Too much injection will reduce the binding efficiency.

　　②Place the optical fiber: Confirm the coming and going direction of the optical fiber, when it is consistent with the direction of OPT IN/0uT marked on the instrument, put the optical fiber into the V-shaped groove of the clamper.

　　③Check the position of the fiber: confirm whether the fiber is placed in the V-shaped groove, and then pull the fiber to the right for about 10mm.

　　④Clamp the optical fiber: loosen the gripper handle, and completely clamp the optical fiber until it is ready for use.

　　⑤ Take out the optical fiber: When the use is over, hold the handle of the holder, open the optical fiber clamp, take out the optical fiber, and then use a cotton swab to clean the matching liquid on the holder substrate and the optical fiber clamp (it is forbidden to use water-ethanol or acetone), and finally release the gripper handle.
